We are pleased to invite you to the 11th Czech Summer School of Linguistics. The school will be held in a beautiful old town Litomyšl in Eastern Bohemia. Speakers from top European research institutions and universities will be presenting on various topics related to language, language knowledge, and linguistic research. The schedule can be found here. The school is primarily intended for graduate students of linguistics, psycholinguistics and related areas. However, advanced BA or MA students interested in language and its use, as well as faculty members usually find the school inspiring and useful as well.

The program will start on Sunday, August 20 at 2 pm, and conclude on Saturday, August 27 before 1 pm. The expected check-in and check-out is on these days but it is possible to arrive one day earlier (Saturday, Aug. 19 in the afternoon).

We offer accommodation in the Litomyšl dormitory which is a nice new building where the school will take place. There are two types of rooms: a 3bed room (230 CZK / night, i.e. approximately 8.5 EUR) and 2bed room (350 CZK / night, i.e. approximately 13 EUR). The 2bed rooms have their own toilet and shower and each two 3bed rooms share a toilet and shower. The dormitory is fully equiped and on each floor there is a kitchenette with a fridge which you can freely use. We can offer accommodation only to those who would come for the whole school. These participants pay only for the accommodation we provide and are exempted from a participation fee. To complete the registration we will ask these participants to pay a small advance on accommodation expenses, CZK 700 or EUR 27. This reservation advance will be deducted from their accommodation costs.

Participants who would like to come only for a few days and/or who do not want to stay at the dormitory are also welcome but they need to find their own accommodation somewhere else. Also, we would like them to pay a participation fee of 300 CZK to complete the registration.

To register, please fill out this form. The registration will be open till May 31 but the capacity of the school is limited so we would like to encourage you to register sooner rather than later. [EDIT 29 May 2017: The capacity of the school is full and there is a long waiting list.]

After registering, we will send you a confirming e-mail and ask you to send the advance (or the participation fee) to our account. If you cancel your registration until 30th June, we will refund you 70% of the fee. After 30th June, the fee is not refundable.

We cannot accept credit card payments but it is possible to pay via bank transfer or via PayPal.

During the school, there will be a poster session where participants may show some of their work, including results, ongoing projects or just planned work. This is not obligatory but it is a good opportunity to interact with other participants and faculty. We will send you a separate message announcing the poster session and asking for poster submissions in June.
